our Mission
Obedience lays a foundation of structure and communication but dog behavior can be difficult to understand and easily mishandled. The mission of Dogbridge is to educate owners on the “why” behind the behavior and help condition your dog to your expectations. Through proven techniques, concise communication and a consistent approach, we will help build your bridge to obedience.
About Lauren
I discovered my passion for dog behavior as a volunteer for a privately owned, no kill dog shelter in Portland Oregon. The shelter housed their dogs in packs and specialized in strategically placing the “Misfits” in their forever homes.
It was fascinating and rewarding to observe, train and respect the unspoken language of dog behavior. This led me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After four years as a veterinary assistant and a lot of studying, determination and tenacity I secured my certified veterinary technician license. I practiced in small animal medicine for another four years before realizing the need to come back to Vermont.
I gained my professional dog training experience from Thin Blue Line K9. There I had the opportunity to work for Tom Radford, a K9 handler for The Burlington police department of 22 years. I was trained to work closely with owners and their dogs teaching basic and advanced obedience as well as reactivity modification, using techniques from the K9 police academy.
My husband and I currently reside in Johnson with our Minnie Dachshund “Rainy” our Japanese Chin “Jiro” and our Chiweenie “Maple”
